quite some time ago, i was bloghopping and i saw an entry from one of my fave flogs! shemmyboy had raved about Astons sometime back and i had totally forgotten about the place till i saw that entry.
i immediately shared the link with my best friend jen jen who was a big steak lover like me and with tiger (who mentioned there was a branch at serangoon gardens too), of course. tiger and i decided, right after the monopoly challenge, we would head down straight to astons to fulfil <s>my</s> our steak craving.
tiger and me.
by the time we arrived at astons, it was already 9ish. we were starving!
imagine our surprise when we saw there was a queue… a long queue too! tiger had half a mind to head to stonegrill for dinner as we were starving at that time but i refused to and demanded that we eat at astons. afterall, we had heard soooo much about it and we came down all the way for astons and we were gonna eat there!, i told him. lol.
thankfully, the queue moved fast and soon, it was our turn.
i chose the steak and tiger chose the lime chicken+sausages and we decided on sharing a soup. we had a choice of 2 sides and i chose onion rings and potato salad while tiger chose the fries and potato salad. we also ordered 2 rootbeers to quench our thirst.
the mushroom soup was good though imho it could have been a bit more thicker but it was good. the garlic bread was crispy and they were generous with the spread. 🙂

our maincourses arrived shortly.
my steak. i found the potato salad a bit too much mayo for me, the onion rings were good though. the sides reminded me a bit of kenny roger’s. lol.
the true test. yes, it was medium and there were blood when i squeezed the meat a bit but i prefered my steak to be a bit more bloody. (the second time i went with shemmyboy, the steak was perfect. juicy, bloody and goooood!).

then i tried tiger’s main course…
i loved the lime chicken and sausages! it was damn good. i kept stealing his sausages and poor tiger was grumbling after that.

the only grips about this place was that the table for 2 was really small. imagine if we had shared more sides and all, i bet i’m gonna knock off a few bowls/plates/glasses with my elbow, knowing the clumsy old me.

It’s affordable you can get good stuff at below 10 bucks but I think the steaks are like 13.
