For ages, I never saw the need to have a car license. Until I started dating Ching Chong Boy.. I started getting more interested in bikes and cars, and really see the convenience of owning your vehicle.
While I do think that it’s not feasible to own your own car in Singapore unless you are sharing it with your family, I am still very keen to get my own car license thus I have taken the first step.
By going for my Basic Theory Test this week. Just opened the Highway code book that Nick has sweetly lent me and I was shocked. SO many things to memorise! Jia lat le!
After that, it’ll be the next step. I’ve been asking friends for opinions over whether I should go for School or Private and to be honest, I’m leaning towards Private (though CCB seriously thinks I should go for School.)
Any recommendations for instructors? I’ll be taking my lessons at Ubi. Must be english speaking, friendly and preferably not ancient that he’ll fall asleep when I’m driving.
Any tips for BTT, ATT or instructors or lessons or anything would be great!
Thanks guys!
All the best! 🙂

Hey Nad! Just make sure you keep practicing the 10 years series. You can get them at popular. Just finish all the questions you’ll sure pass. The question repeats. So just make sure you get the latest edition.

hmm, if u have specific requirements for your instructors, then maybe school is not so suitable for you..
i took my lessons there (erm 5 yrs ago), every lesson it’s a different instructor. you can specify a “permanent” instructor but it’s gonna cost u much more! most of the instructors thr are uncles.. and not all speak english.
besides, sch is a lot more expensive than pte. altho the good thing abt sch is u will be more familiar with the circuit and u dun hv to book the circuit for practice. i think pte students have to book the circuit (extra charges).
ahaha, pros and cons. if cost / time / flexibility of lessons is an issue, pte is good. chk out the schedule and pricing when u’re thr for ur btt.
not too sure if thr have been any major changes tho, since it’s been such a long time since i went to Ubi..
and good luck for your BTT! study hard! =D

hey nad, go for the sch, its more systematic & u know what u will be learning. i took pte instructor recommended by a friend. paid for 10 lessons and didnt learn much at all! wasted money then decided to go to sch. sch has priority for circuit some more. no need to book for specific instructor. they allocated to me total a swop bet 2-3 instructors most of the time, so not too bad.. gd luck!
