After my Mystery Makan at Yi, it was time for BFF’s Mystery Makan! She cryptically told us the place had florals.
I had a slight inclination to where she was bringing us. (cos bff mah! hahahaha i think we kinda have the same tastes when it comes to Mystery Makans!)
For long time blog readers (if you are still reading this dusty old blog that is), you would probably remember about the Mystery Makan series I used to blog about.
Back in 2010, I started this #mysterymakan tradition with Jacelyn, Esther and Fidelis. Each of us would take turns planning makan outings and would only reveal the address on the day itself with no other details. With the Mystery Makan tradition, we visited new places and tried new food! It’s really fun and we all look forward to our Mystery Makan sessions.
Just a recap of all of the “Mystery Makan episodes” I blogged back then in this Singapore Lifestyle Blog.
Other Mystery Makan sessions previously:
- Eat Play Love
- Table Manners
- Ardent’s
- Old School Delight
- Queen’s Dessert Cafe Bistro
- Epicurious
- Box N Sticks
- Tea Cosy
- Barracks, Dempsey
- Porn’s
- Nanjya Monjya
- With a Pinch of Salt
- Bodacious Bar & Bistro

- Social Place
- Yi by Jereme Leung
And I was right! She brought us to The Summerhouse, which is actually located quite near all of our houses!
The Summerhouse is located at Park Lane, and I personally have passed by that place many times when SimPa and I brought the kids to cafes nearby!
Super happy that she had brought us there as it’s actually a place on my list. <3
The Summerhouse has various dining areas. The typical restaurant itself and domes. However domes require a minimum spending thus we decided to stick to the French Dining Room.
But needless to say, we all needed to snap pics at this very Instagrammable area.
Moved into the French Dining Room and we shared the Summerhouse Kitchen Table menu which was at $70 per pax.
But first… time for drinks hehe.
It was nice dining communal style as we get to try a bit of everything.
Presentation was on point. Dishes looked great! Foodwise, I think it was hits and misses but overall still an enjoyable experience. However I do think it could get slightly pricey. I did go back many times however I dined at Wildseed also (located at Summerhouse) which was a bit more budget friendly. Perhaps I would go back to The Summerhouse and order ala carte instead! However I would definitely rate The Summerhouse as a romantic restaurant in Singapore. Perfect for first dates.
But overall, a great experience planned by bff Jacelyn! Have you read her post on the previous Mystery Makan Yi?
Looking forward to the next one!
