Kathy from Kandi Treats had kindly approached me and asked if I wanted to review (not paid okay!) their latest product: Jellybeans. I was intrigued by the name and decided to take up the offer to review the products and also have a giveaway for my readers.
First up, some background info on Kandi Treats.
The first product, Jelly Bean, was conceptualized by the owner, Kathy Amurao-Herrera. One day while shopping at a bazaar, an idea sprang her mind that it would be great to only shop for JUST one item and be able to use it in several different types of wardrobe in several different ways. It would be nice to have an accessory that saves you a lot of money and shopping stress just because it is so functional. She started with ribbons as the basic element and soon came up with a simple accessory, which she then tried to reproduce and sell to a few friends.
She was able to show the first batch to several different people and had great feedback. Thatβs when she decided to sell their products to a bigger network. Hence KAnDi Treats was launched August 2010. The name KAnDi was from the names, KAthy Amurao-Herrera, ANdrea Castro & DIanne Cristobal-Correa.
Kandi Treats’ has come a long way since their launch last 2010. They were featured in different tv shows, magazines and fashion blogs. They vow to showcase Filipino hand-made accessories all over the world.
I thought it was really innovative of her to create an item which can be used in so many ways.
Some of the Jellybeans that I got from them..
I decided to test it out with their Licorice Jellybean and here’s the end result!
And here’s bigger pics of the various ways I used the Licorice Jellybean! (and yes, a proper outfit of the day breakdown soon!)
As a bracelet, all I did was to loop the Licorice Jellybean a few times and tied a butterfly knot.
As a necklace. The Jellybean can be used as a loose necklace as shown here. You can always adjust the length and even tie it in a choker style. Whatever floats your boat. π
As a hairband. This is one of my favourite ways to use the Jellybean.
As a belt!
There are many other ways you can use the Jellybean, even as a bag strap!
If you think the Jellybean is cool and would like to have one for yourself, you’ll be excited to know that I will be giving away a Berry Blue Jellybean!
All you have to do is..
Is leave a comment here! One lucky winner will be chosen randomly!
Contest ends 30th October.
Add: There were a total of 60 entries for this contest! I used a randomizer (from www.random.org) and the winner is…..
Ruo Xuan! Congratulations! I will be dropping you an email soon! π
