Sometime back, I entered the 1-Rochester Wedding fair contest. We had to share our proposal stories. I shared mine and I won tickets to the wedding fair!
Attended the wedding fair with Ching Chong Boy. And to our surprise, our story was picked as the top 3 proposal stories and we won a dining voucher for two worth S$70/pax!
We headed over to 1-Rochester last week to have a yummilicious dinner. The bad thing about the place? The dreadful lighting. Everything looks yellow!
Our dining voucher entitled us to the communal dinner which consisted on an appetizer, two mains and a choice of the cheese platter or dessert.
Served with bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Smells good but I couldn’t eat! Ching Chong Boy enjoyed it on my behalf 🙁
We chose Tastes of the Easts which consisted of Spicy thai chicken and prawn dip with rice crackers,
Szechuan salt & pepper soft shell crab, chicken and beef skewers and crispy pork.
Delish! Ccb raved about the crispy pork. I’m a simple girl, I like the satay!
For the main courses, we went for the slow braised lamb shank.
Not a fan. The dish just didn’t agree with me. Maybe the lamb taste was a bit overpowering for me. Ching Chong Boy really enjoyed the dish though.
We also shared the Braised Angus short rib with creamy Paris mash potato
and buttered baby carrots.
This dish? I REALLY LIKED IT! The short rib was so tender and delicious! Coupled with herbed butter that the staff kindly provided, it was to die for. I WANNA EAT IT AGAIN AND AGAIN!
The main courses were served with sides: Herbed leaf salad, Cauliflower cheese gratin and ‘Roast’ rosemary potatoes.
My favourite was the salad!
Last but not least, we had a selection of artisanal cheeses with muscatels and quince paste instead of desserts since I’m cutting down on sugar 😡
Cheese is always delicious. Especially when it’s blue cheese. TAKE AWAY MY CARBS BUT NEVER TAKE AWAY MY CHEESE.
LOL.
You guys should totally check 1-Rochester out! Noticed there’s a deal on The Good Life application!
Go as a group and average it out 😡
Last but not least, here’s my outfit of the day!
Beige-black dress with interesting details. The hemline is short infront and longer at the back! I coupled it with a belt and my beige heels.
The dress is uber cheap can?! Less than twenty bucks! Ccb hates the front flaps though 😡
