This is a Thursday’s Travels – Anything about previous, current and future (upcoming) travel exploits entry under my Singapore Travel Blog themed blog posts! For more info about the themed blog posts, do read the entry here.
As mentioned in our previous Maldives entry, we had to take a seaplane to our resort. Seaplanes do not come cheap, so when planning for your Maldives holiday, do try to choose a resort that comes with transportation, ideally a ferry service.
For us, we never tried a seaplane before and we had really liked our resort (not sponsored!) and a lot of other resorts were fully booked due to the high season. We decided to splurge in the end.
Honestly, the seaplane experience isn’t anything spectacular. Skip it!
This was our view once we landed. Fell in love with the resort even before reaching our rooms!
While waiting to check in, we were served with a cool refreshment. Needless to say, the beer guzzling monster hubby chose a beer.
There are many sorts of accommodation in Maldives actually. You can choose from hotels to resorts. Most honeymooners would splurge on a villa in a resort.
Cost breakdown:
Air tickets to Male via Singapore Airlines – S$1,100
Seaplane transfer – S$1,200
Watervilla – S$5,900
There are beach vilas, which are on land and water villas like the picture above. Of course, a water villa would be the more sought after choice as it’s not only Instagram worthy but it’s really convenient when wanting to go for a swim. All you have to do is head for a swim from your balcony.
More pictures when walking towards our overwater villa in Maldives.
No bathtubs though!
Watch the fishies swim by!
From our balcony. Beautiful view!
Maldives, is just so beautiful. Hope to be back again, someday. As this entry is really picture intensive enough, I’ll save the rest of the pictures for another Thursday’s Travels entry. Will blog about our all-inclusive experience.
