I know I dedicated a wedding prep video to my bridal makeup trial but I just wanted to share some of the pics taken during my trial. I had my trial at Orchard Hotel. (laoniang house very the messy la :p) and Cindy from Colorpots was my makeup artist.
I didn’t now which hairstyle I wanted that day and Cindy actually chose 3 hairstyles for me. (In the end, we didn’t use all 3. LOL)
I had told Cindy I wanted dolly eyes and wanted to focus on the lashes (both top and bottom) as on a normal daily basis, I hardly use lashes. Here’s what she came out for me!
She had given me dark smokey eyes with elaborate lashes. The makeup honestly looked a bit darker in person rather than pictures but usually that’s the case. If you wanted very natural makeup in person then in pictures, it wouldn’t look so obvious. Also as my ROM was in the evening, we went for a darker look to last throughout the night.
What I loved about Cindy is that she’s open to changes. I had coloured my hair lighter after the trial and she agreed that the darker eye look might not be as suitable with the new hair colour. We decided to swop the black tones to brown. While it was more of a natural look, I felt that it was still eyecatching at thend of the day.
We tried 3 hairstyles.
This elaborate braided updo which ALL of the girls (Cindy, my videographer Eva and me!) loved but unfortunately the hubby thought it was TOO elaborate.
Typical men, only want simple natural look. BOO.
This side ponytail with the very cute pink bow. I liked this but felt it made my face look big. BOO to thin, fine hair.
In the end, we decided to go with this bouncy updo. I thought it looked really cute! BUT i had cut my fringe short a few days prior to my ROM (itchy backside lah) and Cindy and I felt that the fringe didn’t suit this updo.
And so what happened? We winged it. On the day of my ROM, I didn’t even know what hairstyle I was going to get. Did I feel a bit nervous? Actually I was more worried about my fringe, lol. I left everything to the good hands of my makeup artist who was fantastic. Left the worrying to her. HURHUR.
Wanted to post up a dopey pic of me with my dress. Everyone thought it was a flower girls dress cause it looked so tiny. :p
I was extremely happy with the whole look of my makeup on the actual ROM day. But for that, you gotta stay tuned :p
For the brides, here are some valuable tips from Cindy:
-Do not wash your hair the day of your trial / actual makeup day.
-Do not put on any leave in serum or conditioner the night before
-Bring your skincare regime but do not put in on. The MUA will help you with it. Sometimes the moisturiser might counter effect her ampoules
-Have enough sleep!
-Do not stress! There will be things that do not go as planned. As with every event, all you can do is avoid hiccups. Most importantly DO NOT STRESS. Later it’ll show in pictures. In the end, what matters most is the union of both of you đ
