As we all know from the countless of TV commercials playing these days, Don’t Forget The Lyrics is coming to Singapore and Gurmit Singh will be the host of the newest reality show to hit Singapore.

I seriously do not understand why Gurmit is the host of this show! Don’t get me wrong, Gurmit is great and all, we’ve all seen his great hosting skills in NDP, Singapore Idol, various food show and countless of other shows but isn’t he a tad overused?
Aside from being overused, I seriously think MediaCorp could have chosen a more relevant host. Perhaps a DJ from one of their many radio stations like perhaps The Flying Dutchman, Glenn Ong, Jean Danker, The Muttons, Cruz Teng or anyone else.
Any of the DJs would be a better fit. Why do I say so? They’ve been working in Radio since goodness knows when and for donkey years. Music is their life. Get what I mean?
Even if the DJs schedule is perhaps way too hectic to accommodate the filming schedules and all, how about getting either one of the Singapore Idols to host it? Seems like the poor winners only scored 1 CD release and a 7-11 sponsorship and nothing else? At least they’ll be a more relevant fit. I’ve seen both winners in person during my stint back in Radioland (otherwise known as emco) back then and I would think Taufik would be a better host as compared to Hady. No offense to all of you Hady supporters.

Just check out the original US version. Wayne Brady is a fantastic host, he sings, he dances, he’s the bomb. Obviously the Singapore version is gonna pale in comparison. Gurms is a good host but I would think someone who knows a lot about music e.g. DJs or is a singer would be a better fit.

Errr really. We should get Hossan Leong to host this loh. He’s more Wayne Brady than Mr Singh.
I mean Hossan, sings, dances and obviously can host. Srsly….

yeah i too agree that hossan leong is definitely a more interesting choice. I like Glenn Ong too. But maybe Gurmit, Singapore household brand is a safer choice for the masses. 🙂

Yap! I was quite sad when I saw Gurmit hosting the show. Agree with Tiger that perhaps Hossan would make the show much more interesting.
As for getting Glenn or other DJs, well, personally I feel they’re better off over the radio than on TV. Can’t remember what show was it that both Glenn and Flying Dutchman were hosting, but it kinda suck imho.
But still, no one will host the show as good as Wayne Brady! He’s the bomb!

Pretty much sick of gurmit singh. He is no longer as entertaining as a host as he is 12 years ago.

I love to see Vernetta Lopez hosting the show.. or Don & Drew.. yeah.. but i hope they do shows like ‘Singapore Got Talents’… i love to see Ah Bengs loansharks shows their talents in spray painting a wall.. or better still… Julen balancing a baboon’s ass on his face while smacking his own balls with a table tennis paddle.. yeah..

Hahaha, yaps. Hossan Leong will indeed be more funny. But in response to the comment made by DamnMorgan, I think that Venetta won’t do such a good job compared to others like Taufik because she doesn’t really have a great sense of humour. No offence though.
