Remember this entry?
thebeanmaster and I met up for our very own Christmas dinner before he headed off to Buffalo for studies.
We decided to try the Black Angus outlet located at Orchard Parade Hotel and well… we were left disappointed. Anyway, pics first and descriptions later..
I had the baked potato soup which was extremely satisfying.
A closer look. Somehow or rather, it kind of reminded me of Cream of Potato and Leek soup but way tastier. The bacon bits made it crunchy and yet smooth and I was left wanting for more…
Thebeanmaster had the Garden Salad but he didn’t seem to enjoy his salad and kept looking at my soup. NONE FOR YOU!
We shared the potato skins which was served pretty cold that day unfortunately. I think the best potato skins I had was at St James… The potato skins were apparently loaded with fresh cheddar cheese, bacon and green onion but as you can see from the picture, it was rather disappointing.
For the main course, thebeanmaster ordered the…
Top Sirloin with Salmon coupled with a baked potato on the side.
And I ordered the…
Top Sirloin with Grilled Prawns… accompanied by mashed potato.
The steak looks yummy doesn’t it?
I ordered medium rare but it wasn’t bloody enough for me. Pun intended. I don’t know how to describe it but the steak just wasn’t tasty for me.
The prawns were juicy and delish. Thank god!
If you’re looking for a fine dining restaurant, this outlet is definitely not the one for you. It’s more of a casual chit chat place.
I doubt I’ll be back for the steak, maybe for the delish baked potato soup only.
Thankfully, the company was good and it made the meal better. 🙂 Am so missing my bestie. Come back soon bro!

elusia: I’ve never tried the one at Taka before… I know there’s another Angus at Fullerton, food tastes diff and service & ambience was way better! Yeap, I’ve been to Aston Prime before. Damn shiok!
anw: Heh, pity it doesn’t taste as delish as it looks. 🙁

Angus @ Fullerton closed down quite some time back. And the Angus Steakhouse & Black Angus are not related.
I had bad experience at Aston Prime though.
