I am a HUGE fan of Mala and was extremely excited to have received an invite from Tian Wei Seafood for a food tasting for Mala Crab!
Together with the fam and my friend Colin, we visited Tian Wei Seafood.
Tian Wei Seafood is a seafood restaurant in Singapore is located in an open air coffee shop at Tagore Lane with plenty of areas to park for those driving. I spoke to their staff and understood that they pride themselves in serving delicious and fresh seafood at affordable prices. This is definitely a plus as I was looking for best places to eat in Singapore!
After eating at Tian Wei Seafood, I gotta say, I think they have to be one of the most affordable and best mala crab restaurant in Singapore.
These are the items we tried:
We started our meal with the delicious Yuzu Wasabi Oyster. Very refreshing and fresh! I am actually quite picky about my oysters but I really enjoyed Tian Wei’s and actually reached out for another!
We then had a bowl of the Fish Maw and Crab Meat Soup. This was light and tasty that the kids really enjoyed it!
As with every typical asian meal, we had to have rice. Especially for the kids! They are always requesting for rice. We ordered the Yangzhou Fried Rice. My friend Colin really enjoyed this and polished this off!
For the vegetable dishes, we had the Trio Egg Spinach and Steamed Lady Finger.
The men thoroughly enjoyed the Trio Egg Spinach and kept raving over it!
As a huge garlic fan, I was happy to let the men concentrate on the Trio Egg Spinach dish while I gobbled the Garlic Bamboo Clam up. It’s extremely fresh and well prepared. I love how generous they were with the vermicelli and garlic! It is not difficult to see why this is one of their signature dishes!
But the star hero of the whole meal would have to be their Original Mala Crab! You can choose to opt for mild, medium or spicy depending on your spice tolerance. We tried mild and we loved it! As a huge fan of mala, I loved the combo!
All of us raved over the Mala Crab and couldn’t get over how juicy and fresh the crabs were!
The crabs are priced at $88 per kg when we visited and we polished 2 crabs off! Tian Wei Seafood used Sri Lankan Crab here as compared to the typical Jumbo Crab and we could definitely taste the difference compared to our other crab meals outside. The Sri Lankan Crab is sweeter, fresher and juicier! Seriously, this has to be one of the best mala crab restaurant in Singapore!
Our lil fam thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Tian Wei Seafood and I have to say, it is one of the best seafood restaurants that I have been to, so far!
Would definitely be back and this time, I’m gonna order a spicier Mala Crab!
Thank you Tian Wei Seafood Restaurant for having us! Thank you Colin for pics!
