I’ve skipped the proper sequence I know. I should have blogged about this before the Star Virgo entry 😡 oops!
Last year’s birthday celebration was full of surprise but this year’s was a bit less “surprising”. 🙁
A few days before his birthday, I told Ching Chong Boy that we were going for a staycation the day before his birthday. He was extremely surprised as he had thought the cruise was the only thing he was getting for his birthday. :X
We stayed at Grand Park City Hall Hotel which is located at City Hall (duh, it’s name is pretty obvious :X) and is conveniently located near City Hall mrt station.
“Grand Park City Hall is strategically located within the historically vibrant Civic District. Within walking distance are some of Singapore’s oldest and historical landmarks – a living glimpse into the city-state’s history.
The ten-storey atrium hotel combines the charm of restored, century-old shophouses and modern architecture, providing an interesting mix that has earned it the prestigious Architectural Heritage Award.
Grand Park City Hall is also within the Central Business District and the new Downtown, providing easy access for business needs. The hotel is next to Raffles City, Suntec and Marina Bay shopping hubs, providing guests endless retail therapy possibilities.”
We stayed in a Deluxe Room at the Crystal Club Floor.
“Located on the top floors of the hotel, the club floor offers deluxe facilities and special privileges, from personalised check-in services to private dining at the exclusive Crystal Club Lounge.”
Checking in was a breeze and we were shown our room in a jiffy.
Comfy bed that made us skip breakfast. :X It was just wayyyyy too comfy and we couldn’t bear to wake up so early for breakfast. We snoozed and snoozed and by the time we got up, it was way too late. Oops!
Regretted not bringing my netbook as there was free broadband internet. 🙁 Yummy welcome fruit platter. 🙂
Where one makes one’s coffee and tea.
Very big bathroom. Separate shower stall and big bath tub. iLike.
The boy amused himself with the TV while I was getting ready.
After we unpacked, we headed off to the Spa Park Asia which was a few mins away.
“Spa Park Asia focuses on spa treatments inspired by Asian techniques and philosophies, artfully paired with a premium range of oxygen-based spa products from Karin Herzog. The products deliver an essential rush of oxygen to the skin that stimulates blood circulation, causing skin cells to function more effectively. Karin Herzog line enjoys celebrity endorsement such as Cameron Diaz, Kylie Minogue, Kate Winslet and Sharon Stone among others.”
Check out the birthday boy’s top! It says “I’d like to apologise in advance for my behaviour tonight.” LOL
We went for SPA’s signature massage. An hour long deep tissue massage. (S$128). Deep tissue massages help with muscle relaxation and is designed to increase flexibility, muscle tightness and improve blood circulation through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on contracted areas. Felt really good after the massage. Ching Chong Boy mentioned that it was the best massage he has ever had. A must try!
We later went for tea at the Crystal Club Lounge. They had a whole bevy of yummy snacks and beverages.
His favourite Nespresso machine.
Soft drinks, beers, drinks, take your pick!
Yummy canapes, finger food and dessert. My favourite is the cheese station. <3
Hard liquor anyone 😉
Extremely yummy session, infact, we were so stuffed that we could hardly touch our dinner after that! Sadly, both of us overslept and didn’t manage to try the buffet breakfast 🙁
I ordered a chocolate cake from The Deli which is located in the hotel, heard from the staff that the cake was freshly baked! Very delish! Pics of cake in the next entry!
Both Ching Chong Boy and myself really enjoyed the staycation at Grand Park City Hall Hotel and were very pleased by the room, food and great service. We’ll definitely be back soon!
Pic taken in the hotel. Uber chio lighting courtesy of the ring light that Trixy has kindly recommended and ordered for me. <3
Do check it out!
Will be posting pictures of his birthday party at Boiler Room soon! Look out for it!
Dear Nadnut, I tried clicking on your link to under “Book” a room for the Grand Park City Hall and it leads me to the information page. However, when i tried to book a room, I could not find the tab for “Weekend Treats for Locals”. So I was wondering if the offer has ended? Just to make it clearer :
“Book a Superior Room from S$228++ per night at Grand Park City Hall under the “Weekend Treats for Local” promotion and enjoy guaranteed free upgrade to Deluxe Room, late check-out till 4pm and other free perks worth S$380++.”
This is the package I would like to book.
Waiting for your kind reply.
