The kind folks from Perfect Italiano invited both the hubby and I to a fun cooking session with Chef Lino Sauro at Palate Sensations!
As a newlywed, both the hubby and I was pretty excited. I mean like, we aren’t exactly handy in the kitchen and to us, cooking was more of a play thing than a chore. Well, at the moment lah. :p
And as some of you guys may know, I AM A HUGE FAN OF CHEESE. I love cheese. Like 99% of cheese that I’ve encountered, I like.
My favourite cheese is Blue Cheese. IT’S DA BOMB. It’s a pity Perfect Italiano does not have Blue Cheese. *pouts* But turns out their other cheese items were really yummy!
While Chef Lino may look a bit fierce here, he’s actually a really nice guy!
Chef Ching Chong Hubby and Chef nadnut reporting for duty! We were taught 3 dishes but because it’s rather image intensive, I decided to divide it into three posts. Look out for the other recipes soon!
We were given the ingredients of our first dish: Wonton Ravioli with Soya Marinated Prawns and Parmesan Fondue.
Ingredients:
– 100g Perfect Italiano Parmesan Grated Cheese
– 100g Anchor unsalted butter
– 20 pcs of square shaped wonton skin
– 20g light soya sauce
– 30g olive oil
– 2 garlic cloves
– 110g full cream milk
– 1 stalk of spring onion
– 20g white wine
– 10 pcs of tiger prawns
First, peel and marinate prawns with soya, garlic, olive oil and spring onion.
Next, make the parmesan fondue by mixing the Perfect Italiano Parmesan Grated Cheese, milk, butter and white wine. Warm up the mixture in a bain-marie till creamy and season with white pepper.
Next, fill the wonton with prawn. Use egg to “seal” the wanton. But don’t put too much else your wonton will be too soggy!
Boil the wantons for about 3 minutes. Drain it and plate it.
Pour fondue on the ravioli and season with spring onion and Perfect Italiano Parmesan Grated Cheese!
Voila! I present to you… the Wonton Ravioli with Soya Marinated Prawns and Parmesan Fondue!
Both the hubby and I took turns preparing and taking pics. I cooked the first dish and he took pics and we swopped for the second dish!
We really loved this dish! I’m not just saying this because I prepared it but it’s really yummy! It can be a bit jelak so do go easy with the cheese fondue!
The next recipe I will be sharing in my next post would be the Rice Roll with Mozzarella Cheese and Salmon prepared by the hubby!
The crew also video-ed the process, check out the vids here. Also, to find out more about Perfect Italiano, check out their website here! I will post the next 2 recipes soon! Do share your favourite cheesy recipes if you have any, simple to prepare please. :p Yours truly is definitely not a domestic goddess. LOL
