It’s been a while since my last #project1314 update and trust me, there has been 101 things to do. Which probably has been half done. *tears hair* But at least, one of them has been done! A bonding session for my bridesmaids.
Hello everyone, pls say hi to #nadbridesmaids! We have Jacelyn, Fidelis, Esther, Carrie and Elaine!
5 lovely bloggers, all chio-er, prettier, taller, slimmer and sexier than me. (this was what my friends/colleagues said to me and asked why i choose them, why never choose uglier bridesmaids -_-)
I NO SCARED. COS I BE THE CHIOEST ON #project1314. MUAHAHAHHA.
Anyway, I don’t get the rationale about choosing uglier bridesmaids. I mean, wah lao eh. So inferior feeling meh. I chose my bridesmaids not cos of their looks or that they are bloggers honestly but because they are fun.
Anyway, my male colleagues are damn excited after seeing these pics. They keep asking me to let them sit beside my #nadbridesmaids. Tsk.
ANYWAYYYYYY! The kind folks at Park Hotel Group contacted me, they had wanted to host me for a staycation and I thought what better staycation can there be but with my bridesmaids?! I had girly staycations before, I had couple staycations, romantic staycations, birthday staycations etc but I never had such a bridesmaids staycation! It was the perfect opportunity for us to get to know each other and also, to bond! We always wondered what to do during a staycation and we thought this way, it would be great for us to 1) bond 2) discuss on gatecrashing stuff 3) nua max!
What better way to know one another but to lock everyone up in a room for more than 12 hours right?! I organised the staycation for all 6 of us however at the eleventh hour, Elaine couldn’t join us. 🙁 Awwww!
And so, it became 5 of us. And here is the tale of how the 5 of us bonded and ate like a pig during our lovely Singapore staycation at Grand Park Orchard.
Although no boys were allowed, I bullied the c(hubby) to send both BFF Jacelyn and I to the hotel. Actually quite kelian, he drove us there, saw the lovely room and yummy food but had to go back home. :p
We were offered 2 x Premier Rooms for 5 of us. 1 of the room had an additional pullout bed.
The kind folks from Park Hotel Group and Goodstuph printed a lovely poster for me! I had designed a “Staycate with the bridesmaids” poster as part of their meme generator at their Facebook page.
I loved the customised Stay nadnut pillow! <3
They currently are having a Staycate Plus promotion where one can enjoy a complimentary room upgrade, free Internet and parking, 20% off F&B and Spa treatments and also take home the poster!
While the room came stocked with toiletries, the kind folks from Beauty Direct had passed me some products to share with my bridesmaids!
Am so blessed! We all used the MVNE Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash and Head Spa cream. We also tried the Fernanda Body Scrub and Body Mist! I love how fragrant all of the products were! My personal favourite was the Head Spa cream which was so nourishing for our hair (especially after a dip in the pool) and the Body Scrub! Felt super pampered!!!
We enjoyed a lovely Hi-Tea at Grand Park Orchard’s Open House.
My perception of High Tea is usually scones, cakes and tea. Boy, was I wrong when I visited Open House. There were so many savoury dishes that we were so spoilt for choice! The live stations were the best, they prepared the food piping hot and you just HAVE to try everything. The desserts were heavenly! For just S$28++, it’s extremely value for money! High Tea seemed like dinner to me!
MUST TRY: Durian Pengat. Delightful shots of durian puree that really left a sensation like no other in your mouth.
The girls and I retreated to the Club Lounge. Our rooms came with Club Benefits which were a delight! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Club Lounge benefits. From snacks, to drinks, to personalised service, breakfast and cocktail hours, there is nothing NOT to like about Club benefits!
We enjoyed cocktails at Club Lounge where there were free flow of yummy canapes, cheese and fondue! While enjoying some bubbly, we thought of some ideas to torture the c(hubby) and his brothers. HURHUR!
We went back to the room where I presented them gifts as a token of appreciation for taking time out to help out for #project1314.
Each of them received a heart shaped bag to use on #project1314. Inside, I had ordered a customised bangle with their name on it. I also picked out earrings and an eye mask that I thought would suit each of them. Plus a hand sanitiser!
Our pretty bangles! Unfortunately, I do not think the quality was really good. It was easily scratched and bent out of shape. Thankfully, the girls still loved it! Phew.
When our powers combine…
A sleeping mask that I picked for all of them! I chose Esther’s because she loves pink! Carrie’s cos I noticed she like polkadots (and coincidentally she wore polkadots that day!), Jace cos she likes all things cute and Fidel’s cos she HATES the fox song. :p
We miss you Elaine!
After which, we decided to chill at the pool with the Moscato that I brought..
Super colddddddddddddddd! We couldn’t tahan the cold so we got out pretty quickly! We changed, dressed up and decided to go for supper!
Because Grand Park Orchard was in a fab location, we all dressed up with the intention to go chill, party after supper…
But.. after supper, most of us felt nua. So.. we went back. LOL.
I decided to indulge in a super duper long soak in the bathtub using both Beauty Direct’s products and also a Lushbomb “stolen” from Fidelis. Best 1.5 hours soak EVER.
And I retired to this lovely comfy bed. I believe I fell asleep within 5 minutes.
The next day, we all woke up for breakfast (even me! I usually skip breakfast as I love to sleep in.) We enjoyed a yummy buffet spread from Open House.
To digest, we walked around the hotel and snapped last few pictures before Fidel and Carrie left earlier..
The pretty pool during the day.
I’m not short! :p
Checking out the gym facilities! Carrie and Fidel soon left while Esther, Jacelyn and I camwhored in the room. Gotta make full use of the natural sunlight mah!
The 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our staycation at Grand Park Orchard and found the service impeccable. Food was delish and we felt really fat after the staycation LOL! I felt that this well bridal/bridesmaids staycation really helped us bond and it is always so fun having a staycation for just us girls! With the lovely sunlight, we could camwhore to our heart’s content (unlike with the c(hubby), he is only able to tahan a bit of camwhoring.)
I feel really blessed to have these girls sparing time for the staycation and also spare time to help me out for my wedding. Thank you ladies! <3 Pictures in this entry are also contributed by all 5 of us!
Also, thanks to Beauty Direct for sponsoring some items for us to choose during our staycation!
Most of all, I really appreciate the effort by Grand Park Orchard and Goodstuph for making this happen. If you are looking for a comfy and value for money staycation, do check out Grand Park Orchard. Stay sane. Staycate. Stay happy. Staycate. :p
